Wine Tasting

Wine lovers around the world recognize Anderson Valley as a source of world-class wines. While we have a number of wineries within walking distance, more are just a short drive from the inn. Check out the Anderson Valley Wine Association to see which wineries are booking tasting appointments and when.

Pennyroyal Farm makes artisan sheep and goat cheeses from their pampered herds. Enjoy a tour and then relax on their patio with some delicious nibbles and some of the farm’s wines.

Brewery Tour

Our local brewery, Anderson Valley Brewing Company, gives daily tour and has a renowned frisbee golf course as well as a tap room where you can sample the latest seasonal beer.

Hiking

Hendy Woods State Park has ranger talks in the summer and a variety of hikes you can enjoy year-round. The old growth redwood grove is particularly stunning.

Beaches

About a 40 minute drive down Highway 128 is Navarro Beach, where Navarro River meets the Pacific Ocean. Wade in the waves and enjoy the ocean breezes, but be warned that an exceptionally hot day inland can lead to chilly fog on the coast in August, with 30+ degree differences in temperature.

Mendocino Village

Mendocino Village is an hour’s drive from Boonville on the coast. Full of cute shops, wonderful restaurants, stunning ocean views and a festive selection of events throughout the year—think Mendocino Music Festival and Mendocino Film Festival to name just two—this small town is a great day trip from Indian Creek Inn.
